As someone who enjoys an occasional costume drama miniseries or a novel by Jane Austen, this was an enjoyable tale set in a neo-Victorian future. Hard to believe it was written in 2003 as it correctly anticipated many of the aspects of an always-on, digitally connected world where people can work from anywhere.
